Volunteer

Whether you're looking to get hands-on in your community or share a professional skill, there's a place for you here. Connected Chef is built on care, community, and mutual support, and we welcome volunteers of all identities, backgrounds, and bodies into this inclusive, safe space. No experience needed, just a willingness to show up.

Join our team in helping build a healthier, stronger Queens.

Volunteer Roles

Packing + Farm Stand Support

Help assemble grocery boxes and support our Urban Farm Stand. You’ll sort produce, pack boxes, set up/break down the stand, and welcome neighbors.

  • Shifts: typically 2–3 hours; weekdays and some weekends

  • Great for individuals or small groups

  • Some tasks may involve light to moderate lifting—tell us your access needs

Skills‑Based Volunteers (Professional/Pro Bono)

Use your expertise to strengthen our programs and operations. Flexible, project-based, or ongoing. We’re especially excited to hear from:

  • Legal & Compliance: attorneys, paralegals

  • Food & Health: nutritionists and dietitians

  • Language & Community: translators/interpreters (Spanish/Mandarin/Arabic/Bengali)

  • Storytelling & Design: photographers, videographers, graphic designers

  • Development & Events: grant writers, fundraising, event planners

Don’t see your fit?
We’d still love to connect and find a role that works for you.  Write us.

Hands-on team-building with a purpose

Give your employees the chance to connect, contribute, and grow together while helping to nourish New Yorkers.

  • Volunteer Days

  •  Food Packing & Distribution at the Connected Chef warehouse

Perfect for team-building, employee engagement, and company-wide service days.
